Itinerary: The Divine Pilgrimage

The Char Dham Yatra is typically done in a clockwise direction, starting at Yamunotri and wrapping up at Badrinath. Here’s a sample 11-day itinerary, which is a popular choice for this pilgrimage.

Day 1: Arrival in Haridwar & Ganga Aarti

Arrive in Delhi and head to Haridwar (about 210 km away). Check into your hotel, then visit Mansa Devi Temple and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri. Overnight: Stay in Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Barkot (around 210 km), which serves as the base for the Yamunotri pilgrimage. Arrive in Barkot, check into your hotel, and unwind for the night. Overnight: Stay in Barkot.

Day 3: Barkot to Yamunotri & Back

Drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti (about 36 km). From there, start your 6-km trek to Yamunotri. You can choose to trek, hire a pony, or use a doli (for an extra fee). Take a holy dip in the hot springs of Surya Kund and visit the Yamunotri Temple. Trek back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight: Stay in Barkot.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi

After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi (around 100 km), a town known for its spiritual significance. Check into your hotel. In the evening, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi. Overnight: Stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri & Back

Drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri (approximately 100 km). Enjoy the beautiful drive through Harsil Valley. Take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River (the source of the Ganges) and visit the Gangotri Temple. Drive back to Uttarkashi. Overnight: Stay in Uttarkashi.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

After breakfast, set off on a longer drive to Guptkashi (about 220 km), following the Mandakini River. Arrive in Guptkashi, check into your hotel, and relax. Overnight: Stay in Guptkashi.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Kedarnath

Drive from Guptkashi to Sonprayag (around 30 km). From there, take a local jeep to Gaurikund. Start your challenging 19-km trek to Kedarnath. You can also choose a helicopter or pony ride (for an extra cost). Arrive at Kedarnath, check into your accommodation, and get ready for darshan. Attend the evening aarti at the Kedarnath Temple. Overnight: Stay in Kedarnath.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

After morning prayers and darshan, begin your trek back down to Gaurikund. Take the local jeep to Sonprayag, where your vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to Guptkashi. Overnight: Stay in Guptkashi

Day 9: Guptkashi to Badrinath

Start your drive to Badrinath (around 215 km), passing through Joshimath and other beautiful spots. Arrive at Badrinath, check into your hotel, and take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund hot springs. Visit the Badrinath Temple and participate in the evening aarti. Overnight: Stay in Badrinath.

Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag

After breakfast, visit Mana, the last Indian village. Explore sites like Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the source of the Saraswati River. Begin your drive back towards Rudraprayag (about 160 km). Overnight: Stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Delhi
